I could feel Amy doing somersaults it the womb! Since the day she was born I don’t think I’ve ever seen her sit still! — Marga Kafka, Mother
Childhood
My training career started before I reached the ripe age of 10 when my gymnastics coach asked me to lead the before workout stretch. As I stood in front of my 15 teammates I knew where I belonged: teaching others how to better themselves physically, in a safe environment. After four years of coaching gymnastics, it was time to broaden my horizons.
History
In my eyes, the key to a healthy lifestyle is being active and eating healthy food that actually tastes good, which brought me to my first education stop, an Associate’s degree in the culinary arts. After learning proper cooking methods – and how to make everything taste fantastic with extra butter and bacon – I knew my journey had just started. Back to school I went. Three and a half years later I became a proud graduate of Colorado State University, with a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Fitness.
Lifestyle
Since 2007 I have spent my time in the culinary, nutrition and fitness world trying to better myself and those around me. I have four years of coaching experience, and have been personal training since June 2012. Since 2008, I have been meal planning and catering small parties. I have been a personal chef and teaching cooking lessons since January 2013. In the middle of all this, I worked in the nutrition department of a hospital, giving health education to the patients. This is where I realized the perfect fit for me is helping people change their lifestyle before they ended up in the hospital.
